Care Instructions
ALPACA WOOL KNIT IS VERY EASY TO CARE FOR, BUT WE DO NOT RECOMMEND WASHING IT IN THE WASHING MACHINE.
Basically, Wølmark sweaters or other products do not need much care, because alpaca wool itself is an excellent dirt and smell repellent. Usually, just airing is enough to refresh the knitwear.
A few washes a year is enough for a sweater. It should be noted that each wash weakens the wool's natural ability to repel dirt.
If there is a stain on the shirt that does not come off with a wet towel and light dabbing, a light hand wash is in order. If the stain is difficult and does not come off in hand wash, it is possible to have the Wølmark sweater chemically washed (tetrachloroethylene) in a professional laundry.
When washing a sweater, always follow our hand washing instructions first.
HAND WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Pre-cleaning
If the dirt is difficult, you can steam the sweater lightly at first.
2. Washing
Pour cool-feeling water on your hand into the wash basin and go through the sweater, gently squeezing and pressing. If you wish, you can also use unscented mild soap or shampoo. NOTE! The water must not be more than 30 °C.
3. Pay attention
Never twist or curl the sweater! It can weaken and stretch the knit.
4. Draining
Drain off the water and lightly squeeze the excess wash water from the shirt. Do not hang, twist or shake the product. If you wish, you can steam again at the level of the shirt before drying.
5. Rolling
To remove excess water, you can roll the sweater in a towel. If you want, you can press the roller and repeat the procedure with a new towel. You can also skip this step and go directly to the next step.
6. Drying
The final drying should take place on a dry surface or on an opened towel so that the shirt does not stretch.
WASHING MACHINE WASH
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES DO WE RECOMMEND USING THE WASHING MACHINE.
However, we know that many are tempted to wash a sweater in the washing machine. We want to make it very clear that washing the Wølmark sweater in the washing machine is always the user's own responsibility! With this in mind, we want to offer a guide for washing the washing machine that consumes as little as possible.
If possible, perform all other possible cleaning tasks before putting the Wølmark sweater in the washing machine.
Put the sweater in a protective bag. Laundry bags found in supermarkets are suitable for this, or even a pillowcase is suitable for a home sleeper. The less direct contact the sweater has with the washing drum, the better.
Most washing machines have their own wool washing program, which includes a short mechanical treatment with plenty of water. Please remember to set the temperature as cool as possible. Water above 30°C can ruin the knitted product, and a temperature higher than that should not be used, even with a wool washing program!
When drying, follow the same instructions as when washing by hand.
