Care Instructions

Washing instructions for alpaca wool

1. Often ventilation is enough!

Airing is always the primary recommended measure when caring for Alpaca wool products. Especially if it is a 100% low density wool product, you can get rid of unpleasant odors with ventilation and extend the service life.

2. Sometimes, however, there are stains

In case of stains, we recommend using mild, unscented wool detergents. For example, Ruukkin Kehräämö's detergent designed for alpaca wool or Marseille soap are suitable for this.

3. Pretreatment of stains

As a preliminary treatment, rub or brush the stain area lightly with detergent and leave it on for at least 15 minutes before washing.

4.HUOM! Pesuvesi aina max.30°c

With alpaca products, you have to be careful with the washing programs. Choose wool wash, delicate wash, extra delicate wash or hand wash program. Note that the water temperature must be max. 30°c. If this is not specifically mentioned in the machine, check it in the instructions or from the washing machine manufacturer.

5. Do not twist, twist or squeeze the washing water!

After gentle washing programs and hand washing, you often feel like squeezing the excess water out of the knitwear. However, this easily leads to the knitwear stretching and losing its shape. A patient dryer will be rewarded with a well-preserved and long-lasting alpaca sweater.

6. Do not use a tumble dryer!

Any alpaca knit you put in the dryer and no matter how gently, the end result is doll clothes. As with the previous point, patience is key.
With these care instructions, you have already become an experienced fox! Quality products require quality care and love, this is how you get a lifelong friend from alpaca wool.
